One-on-One Soul Care

Spiritual Direction

One form of soul care is spiritual direction. As a spiritual director, I facilitate a space for prayer, reflection, and conversation. These sessions offer you an opportunity to slow down and pay attention to your soul. I companion you as you seek to deepen your spiritual journey with God. I create an environment for you to explore your relationship with God without experiencing judgment or being “fixed.” This intentional space can tether and anchor you amidst the busyness and chaos of everyday life. I do little “directing” as the Holy Spirit is the true Spiritual Director. I journey alongside you and assist you in noticing God’s invitations in your life so you can respond to Him.

Why would you choose Spiritual Direction?

  • You want to grow in your relationship with God.
  • You know a lot about God but desire a deeper experience of God
  • God seems distant, and you are having a hard time connecting with Him.
  • You desire to discern the voice of God in life situations.
  • Your relationship with God is routine, dull, boring and you would like to explore creative ways to connect with Him.
  • Your relationship with God is mostly a head experience and you have a desire to engage your heart, senses, emotions, body

"Be still & know I am God." (Ps. 46:10)

What you can expect from me:

  • A quiet, safe, and prayerful place to meet.
  • My attentive, listening presence.
  • A focus on learning to be with Jesus and become like Him.
  • Resources for the journey.
  • Help in noticing and responding to God’s voice and presence in your life.
  • Encouragement, affirmation, and challenge without advice-giving or problem-solving.
  • My commitment to be grounded in God’s Word and to pray with you and for you.
  • As a spiritual director, I am not a counselor, psychotherapist, or advisor.

"Taste & see that God is good." (Ps. 34:8)

A Spiritual Direction session may include:

  • Time for you to share
  • Silence
  • Prayer – breath prayers, praying the Psalms, listening prayer, welcome prayer
  • Reflections – on Scripture, on your interior movements, on the Holy Spirit’s invitations
  • Inner healing moments
  • Interactive and embodying experiences with art, journaling, coloring, walking, and more.

I have noticed that most of us are tempted to stay in our “head” when we discuss our spiritual life and our relationship with God. However, most of our other relationships engage our emotions and even invite us to play. We use our senses as we relate to the people around us. While the focus of our sessions together involves my listening as you share, at times I may encourage directees to play with colors, journal, move around, and notice their bodies or emotions. My purpose is to use these tools to anchor the directee more deeply and experientially to God.
